Education and OSAP

Your first point of contact for help with applying for OSAP is the Financial Aid Office of the school you are applying to. Out-of-province students can get help by calling 1-877-OSAP411 (1-877-672-7411) during business hours.

Find out more about how OSAP can help you pay for your education.

NOTE in February 2026, the Ford government announced changes to the grant and loan distribution amounts for student assistance. These changes will apply to students applying for OSAP for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Whether you are new or returning to post-secondary, you will now owe more once you have completed your studies.

Before the Ford government introduced these changes, students could receive up to a maximum of 85% in grants. Now, students can only get up to 25% in grants of the total amount you are eligible to receive, with the remaining portion provided in loans. If you are attending a public college or university, these amounts apply to you.

If you are attending a career college (private), provincial funding will be provided only in loans.

You can use this OSAP aid calculator to get an estimate of how much you can receive in student assistance. For additional financial assistance, check with your university or college for eligible bursaries, scholarships, paid co-op positions, on-campus paid positions, or renewable scholarships.

Visit the OSAP homepage for more information.

Are you a student/parent/guardian worried about what these changes to OSAP mean for you and your family? My team and my Official Opposition colleagues have put forward actions to call on the Ford government to reverse these changes. Contact my community office to learn more.
