Did you know that the City of Toronto and provincial transit agency Metrolinx are planning to build 3 new GO/Smart Track stations in Davenport, including one near Bloor-Lansdowne?
Procurement on these projects has already begun and could be awarded as soon as 2022. The stations are expected to be operational by 2026.
Bloor-Lansdowne, previously a proposed new GO station, will be a new SmartTrack/GO station on the Barrie GO rail corridor between Spadina-Front and Caledonia GO Stations.
Potential Transit Connections include: 300 Bloor-Danforth Blue Night and 47 Lansdowne TTC buses.
Situated on Bloor Street West between St. Helen’s Avenue and the Barrie rail corridor, the new station will feature bike parking, entrance at Bloor street (lower) level and at platform (upper) level, plaza and landscaping at the platform level, one tunnel connecting East and West platforms and a multi-use path from the Davenport Diamond Greenway north of Bloor Street to Dundas. This multi-use path will be routed adjacent to the Barrie GO Rail Corridor and will provide connection to the West Toronto Railpath.
Metrolinx has informed us that they will host community town halls in late October / early November 2021 to share more information about the project, and will form Community Liaison Committees in November or December.
As your MPP, my priority is ensuring that this and all provincial transit projects work for Davenport residents, and that your voices are heard at every stage.
